Canadian company Lexaria’s latest DehydraTECH formation delivered measurable CBD rates three times faster than the MCT formulation conventionally used for edibles.
The coconut oil in MCT oil masks the taste of CBD and is most commonly used in the production of edibles.
Rats were administered 25mg of CBD per kg of body weight for each formulation. CBD was measurable in blood in two minutes using the long-chain fatty acids (LCFA) method, compared to six minutes in the MCT oil.
The researchers monitored the participants for an hour. Within 15 minutes, DehydraTECH’s formulation showed greater levels of CBD in blood concentration than the industry standard MCT did throughout the entire trial.
By the end of the hour, the new method showed CBD levels 319 percent higher in blood concentration than the MCT.
This newest drug delivery formulation showed a much quicker delivery of CBD into the bloodstream than the conventional edible formulation during its animal testing stage. However the full report is yet to be published.
